TQ is a design development and manufacturing company specialising in the creation of exciting design concepts and developing them into cost-effective manufactured products for our clients. We mechanically engineer and electronically develop custom product designs for manufacturing in batch volumes or to a continuous production schedule. Our design and engineering facilities are in the UK and our toolmaking, electronics and manufacturing facilities are in China. Originally formed in response to the rapidly falling numbers of injection mould toolmakers in the UK, TQ primarily focused on the manufacture and supply of custom tools made in China to UK specifications and project managed by our UK tooling manager. Tool-quotes, as the company was then called, existed in parallel with HDS Design Consultants Limited, a specialist product design and development house focused on the design and engineering of consumer products and industrial electronics equipment for clients in a wide variety of product areas.
Between 1986 and 2006 HDS successfully completed over 250 projects, including the first custom design satellite receiver for Pace (now the biggest manufacturer of satellite systems in the world), the first UK designed and engineered video telephone and award winning products in the emerging data and voice/data communication markets. HDS also designed and engineered laboratory equipment, industrial laser printing machinery, medical devices and specialist electronics test equipment. The emerging digital video broadcasting market led to the company creating a whole series of DVB set-top boxes and personal video recorders. The products themselves appeared under several brand names in major electronics outlets.
In response to customer demand TQ now provides a complete professional design- to-manufacture service targeting small to medium size enterprises who do not have the in-house design and development facilities or the expertise to project manage the manufacture of their products in China.

Alternatively, by supplying one more of the four main areas of expertise that make up the 'design-tomanufacture' cycle; concept design and product engineering, electronics design and development, production toolmaking and finally, manufacturing, we can offer our clients the best value solution for their next project.
Since TQ has a full-time office embedded in our manufacturing facility in China we are able to provide a high level of procedure-based quality control on all products we manufacture. The success of our business model is evident by the fact that in last three years we have designed and developed the complete range of products for our biggest customer, including engineering, toolmaking and manufacturing in batches varying from 1,000 to 20,000 in size. Some of these products are complete and some are in kit form for final assembly in the UK.
